Although this hotel is located in the old part of Gjirokaster we were happy that it is a little bit aside from the touristic center with all the cafés, bars, restaurants and shops (5 minutes walk). From our room or the public balcony you have a stunning view over the whole city and valley. The room has kept his old Osman charm. But this also means small closets and creaky planks. The bathroom is super modern in a superb state. Everything is super clean. The Albanian style breakfast is absolutely delicious. The staff is very friendly. Especially the young Mr. Irvin is outstandingly caring and gives you the idea of being "the one and only family's best friend". The perfect host!

Honestly, Kalemi 2 blew us away! We booked Kalemi 1, but the amazing staff surprised us with a free upgrade to Kalemi 2!, stunning castle vibes and top-notch facilities made our stay unforgettable. Parking was a breeze(which is a hastle in this town), and exploring Gjirokaster's Old Town was steps away. But what truly impressed? The manager chasing us down to return our forgotten belongings. That's heart! Kalemi 2, you've earned our loyalty – 10/10, wholeheartedly recommended! Kristina, Fiola and Altga's genuine warmth - if you are into hospitality business. Hire them right away :)

This is a lovely heritage hotel in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage area. It's a great spot to explore from on foot. Our room at the top of the hotel had a lovely view. Others we saw further down are notable for their lovely architecture. The host was very helpful and has great English if your Albanian is limited. The directions to hotel were very useful particularly when self-driving in into Girokastra along the narrow, historical cobbled streets. Breakfast was very good and an excellent start to the day. I would happily stay here again.

Hotel Kalemi is a historic hotel within walking distance of the market at Gjirokaster. The staff were very welcoming and even provided a drop to the market when they were going there. Amazing views from our Pasha room (we paid for an upgrade on check-in). When we had some issues with charges for extra coffee at breakfast, they were kind enough to waive the charges. Overall, a great stay and good choice at a covenient location.

I was originally booked at Hotel Kalemi but staff upgraded me to a suite at Hotel Kalemi 2, which was much-appreciated. Hotel Kalemi 2 is more in the thick of things. The suite was spacious, with incredible views of both the town and the castle. The breakfast was unbelievable, with mountain tea, omlette, fresh bread, homemade fig jam. Delicious!
